** Look At This.
------------------------------------------------------------

Just wanted to get your attention.

Magnetic Eye Records isn't letting up on what we do best:  bringing you the best heavy music on earth in the most appealing and memorable ways possible.

Which means, without doubt, offering it on unimaginably gorgeous vinyl.

Our new online store, DOOM COUNTY (http://www.doomcounty.com) , features an array of MER releases, both current and upcoming, plus hard to find and out-of-print exclusives that you may have thought were loooong gone and impossible to get.

From now through Sunday July 9th, use promo code MAGNETIC4TH for 20% off your purchase at the Doom County store as an Independence Day gift to loyal fans of the heavy.

You'll also see the inaugural offerings of our curated catalog, a selection of non-MER releases hand-picked by our team and by JJ Koczan of The Obelisk (http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/) for an exclusive roundup we call "The Obelisk Pick."

Don't hesitate to reach out with ideas and requests for additional titles you'd like to see!

** LOW FLYING HAWKS RETURNS
------------------------------------------------------------

Enigmatic duo Low Flying Hawks is preparing to bring forth their latest opus, Genkaku (Japanese for “hallucination”), the follow-up to their acclaimed debut Kōfuku.

Once more featuring drummer Dale Crover (The Melvins) and bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle) alongside multi-instrumentalists EHA and AAL, Genkaku is doomier, riffier, and boasting bigger hooks than its predecessor, overflowing with tectonic guitar dirges and simmering intensity.

Produced, recorded and mixed by Toshi Kasai (The Melvins, Big Business) and mastered by James Plotkin (Electric Wizard, Moon Duo), Genkaku also features Melvins frontman King Buzzo, who lends his incomparable vocals to two of the album’s titanic tracks.

"Pounding guitars full of sludgy undertones fill Genkaku from beginning to end, building to a sinister and almost out-of-body experience," the band says.  "It's ideal for those who are willing to let go and hand over control to this hallucinating monster of a record.”

Sure to be a best-of-2017 contender, pre-order Genkaku here (http://magneticeyerecords.merchnow.com/products/v2/255493/genkaku-greenbluewith-blackwhite-splatter-gatefold) or here (https://lowflyinghawks.bandcamp.com/album/genkaku) and get ready to be fucking floored.

** YEAR OF THE COBRA IN THE STUDIO
------------------------------------------------------------

Hard at work on their forthcoming EP for Magnetic Eye, Year of the Cobra spent the holiday weekend in a studio with the godfather of bottom-end, Billy Anderson (Sleep, The Melvins) laying down a grip of new tracks.

We haven't heard a note of it yet, but if their STB Records full-length In the Shadows Below (available at Doom County) is any indication of what to expect, any of your walls that aren't shaken to the point of instability by the new Low Flying Hawks will be in serious danger of collapsing under the onslaught of the new YotC.

While they were at it, they also tracked a pair of tunes for our forthcoming THE WALL [REDUX] project (pre-order at www.merhq.net/store (http://www.merhq.net/store/) ), which we absolutely cannot wait to hear.

Bottom line, this rising two-piece isn't wasting a moment, and we're ecstatic at the opportunity to bring forth their next big statement later this year.

As we say farewell for this update, just a quick reminder that there are less than 50 days till Psycho Las Vegas, where many will get their first (and maybe only) chance to see some of Magnetic Eye's biggest and brightest:  Elephant Tree, Domkraft, and Summoner, not to mention Year of the Cobra, all blowing minds onstage there this year.

Expect to see MER there too, selling records, talking tunes and sneaking off to catch bands when we can (not gonna miss Slo Burn this time around)  Come flip through some vinyl and get some exclusive Psycho goodies!

Till then...
