New MER Signings, Endless Volume!!!!!!!
LEATHER LUNG joins us after label and band circled each other for a good two years, thanks to the continued efforts of Summoner singer (and Deafheaven bassist) Chris Johnson to make a love connection. At last, this crushing Boston 4-piece has arrived at MERHQ with a love for 90’s sludge, outlaw country and delta blues and a record that's built to destroy all preconceptions of what "stoner metal" is. Expect to see their already-completed new album landing early in the second half of 2019, and find them on social here.
BRUME brings its melodic drone-doom approach to MER after having released several records, toured the US and Europe, and played festivals from Austria to London. Their San Francisco aesthetic brings a welcome West Coast infusion to the label, and this April sees them entering the studio with distortion guru Billy Anderson to embark on recording their forthcoming label outing... which we cannot wait to share with you. Follow their progress right here.
CAUSTIC CASANOVA modestly describes themselves as, "a loud, heavy band from the nation's capital," but that hardly does justice to a band that's been compared to bands ranging from Torche to Faith No More to Voivod... wtf? Hell, we don't know, we just knew they belonged here with us. Happy to welcome this acrobatic D.C. three-piece to the roster, and you can look for their album to land sometime around late Summer! Seek them socially here in the meantime.
There is always tons more big news, from the latest progress on Ghastly Sound's debut album (which is going to tear your face off) to Domkraft's just-announced May festival appearances at Sonic Whip in the Netherlands and Esbjerg Fuzztival in Denmark, so be sure you're following us on social for all the latest happenings that we can't possibly get to even if we tried to do these newsletters daily (we won't).
